"The length of our days is seventy years - or eighty, if we have the strength; yet their span is but trouble and sorrow for they quickly pass, and we fly away... Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom." (Psalm 90:10,12) "You have made my days a mere handbreadth; the span of my years is as nothing before you. Each man's life is but a breath." (Psalm 39:5-6) "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16) "Now listen, you who say, 'Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.' Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, 'If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that." (James 4:13-15) "Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth." (Proverbs 21:7) "Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly father is perfect." (Matthew 5:48) "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23) "For the wages of sin is death (eternal spiritual separation),but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." "But your iniguities have separated you from your God; and your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear." (Isaiah 59:2) "For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the spirit." (I Peter 3:18)
